about me

Hey there! My name is Rebecca Semik. I'm a visual and web designer with experience writing copy for email marketing, organization newsletters, social media, and websites. I've been extremely fortunate to share my skills with non-profits such as GLSEN, one-n-ten, AZTYPO, Parents In Transition, the TEA Phoenix, and Xico Inc., as well as independent artists like Kris Kollasch of Fine Arts & Creative Environments and filmmaker Winter Tomisato.

I love finding the right design concept for an event's social media graphic or really stepping into the shoes of a website visitor to make the user experience as seamless and intuitive as possible. I love designing in a way that's not only fresh and fun but also clear and professional. I love designing in a way that just makes sense.

Oh, and just for funsies: My favorite color is blue. My favorite movie is The High Note. My favorite food is tacos. My favorite musician is Ali Gatie.

here’s how I can help you

While my specialties include Website Design and Social Media Graphic Design, I've designed in a variety of other modes.

Fine Art & Creative Environments Website

Category: Web Design  / Wix + Graphic Design

For the Art and Environments website, I crafted a visually engaging and user-friendly platform using Wix, guided by a tailored branding scheme that captures the essence of the organization. My process involved creating detailed user personas to inform the site's design and enhance user experience. A comprehensive sitemap was developed to ensure intuitive navigation, facilitating easy access to various resources. I copy-edited and curated the content across multiple pages, emphasizing clarity and relevance to our audience. The site is fully optimized for search engines and mobile devices, ensuring broad accessibility and visibility. My goal was to build a solid foundation that allows the client to effortlessly manage updates and content changes as needed. You can explore the active website at www.artandenvironments.com.

Internal Short Film Website

Category: Web Design  / Wix + Graphic Design

I was tasked with designing a visually compelling website for the short film Internal, produced by Sneezus Productions. The site features a clean and engaging layout that reflects the film's artistic vision while maintaining user-friendly navigation. I focused on highlighting key elements, including the film's synopsis, behind-the-scenes content, and cast information, to create an immersive experience for visitors. The design captures the film's mood and themes, offering an inviting space for fans and newcomers alike to explore and engage with the project. You can visit the website at sneezusproductions.wixsite.com/internalshort.

AZTYPO + Parents In Transition Websites

Category: Web Design  / Wix + Graphic Design

I was enlisted to design user-friendly websites for AZTYPO and its program, Parents In Transition. Each site showcases its unique personality while maintaining a cohesive visual identity that ties them together. I focused on creating intuitive navigation and accessible content to ensure a seamless user experience across both platforms. Thoughtful design elements and a clear layout enhance usability, making it easy for visitors to access valuable resources. The websites reflect the distinct missions of AZTYPO and Parents In Transition while fostering a sense of unity between them. You can explore AZTYPO at www.aztypo.com and the Parents In Transition site through the editor link provided (publication pending).

GLSEN Phoenix Website

Category: Web Design / Wix + Graphic Design

For the Phoenix Chapter of GLSEN Phoenix, I designed a Wix website using a modified branding scheme based on the GLSEN National website. I created personas, a sitemap, and multiple pages of content with copy written predominantly by myself. I Search Engine Optimized and Mobile Optimized the entire site. The goal was to create a rock-solid foundation so the organization could easily make updates as needed. My original design can be found here. Due to the organization's rebranding and separating from GLSEN, Inc., there is no longer an active GLSEN Phoenix website.
